He wants us to be like him.

The Good Samaritan (Luke 10) went to the victim, bandaged his wounds, pouring oil and wine to the wounds. He put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. He slept overnight in the inn. The next day he took out two denarii to give to the innkeeper. He then said, "when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have." He did not do the care for the man halfway. He provided mercy to the full extent. He treated the man as his own loved one. With this parable, Jesus illustrates how a deed of mercy should be like. No doubt the good Samaritan portrays Jesus the Servant. He takes care of us to the end. He never lets us alone in a helpless state. He said, "I will not leave you as orphans." But know that at the end of the storytelling, Jesus said, "Go and do likewise." He charged us to be a good Samaritan.
