Badi people in Nepal are a group placed at the bottom of Nepal's caste system, Dalit. Even within in the bottom caste hierarchy, they are at the bottom position. They are labeled as 'untouchables of the untouchable.' This socially marginalized people are discriminated and stigmatized. Widespread poverty has driven the male population to cities in Nepal and India to look for jobs. More than 6% of women and girls make their living by prostitution. High mubers of HIV/AIDS patients are reported within the Badi communities. A local pastor and church members shared the gospel and converted one family. They are planning to establish a church in the community. Giving Heart has made a commitment to support their efforts.
